Meetings

Bundaberg Writers’ Club meets on the third Saturday of every month, at the U3A Rooms, 80A Woongarra Street, Bundaberg CBD.

A "typical" club day:
• 10.00am Start, Discussion/Critiques
• 10.30am Workshops/speakers
• Noon Lunch (tea & coffee supplied)
• 12.30pm Official business
• 1.00pm Meeting closes

Monthly Assignments (optional)
Bundaberg Writers’ Club is unique in that every month assignments are set which go on to be critiqued by a panel of three anonymous readers. It’s important to understand that these courageous people are not judges as such, but readers and fellow writers, some working within the industry, who are willing to give their view of the writing put before them based on the terms of the assignment. Club members may not always agree with what our panellists say, but we do recognise that good writing only develops with the help of honest and constructive discussion. Assignments are not compulsory, but members are encouraged to enter. They are usually short, sometimes quirky, often aimed at a specific aspect of writing. Most of all we hope they are fun.

Writers’ Workshops
Most workshops complement the set monthly assignment. If an historical story is to be written, then our guest speaker will have insights to share about the genre, and the workshop will centre around how to write historical fiction.
